The Longest Weekend

So yesterday sucked. I’m like one of five people working at this store but the boss still insisted on going along with the Black Friday thing. I didn’t get why it had such a grim sounding name until I got stuck dealing with crazy people at ungodly hours. At least I got paid overtime and there was plenty of coffee, but seriously. Why would so many people lose their heads over slightly-cheaper-than-usual books. Books.

I guess it was a distraction though. Pretty much all of the guys went home for the weekend to spend time with their folks, so it’s been more quiet around here than I’m used to. Steve’s parents came to pick him up on Wednesday, and they seemed like nice people. Steve was really close to his dad – they kept talking about plans to go skiing. I never even dreamed of having a relationship like that with my old man.

Yeesh, please Romeo, I’m trying to forget about the whole holiday mess. I deliver papers around where I live. Let me tell you now: If you ever do that, you will HATE Black Friday even more than you do now. I spent five hours on Thanksgiving day itself delivering four pound newspapers that were 90% ads for Black Friday! Seriously, people just need to cool down about the whole thing. It’s insane…

Personally I’m more likely to get excited about the books than anything else that could possibly be available on Black Friday, but still, the whole thing sounds like a totally messy annoying idea :( Thank goodness it doesn’t hit so badly here in the UK.

It seems sad that you never got to be close to your dad :( I can’t imagine never being close to mine (although he DOES drive me barmy, on occassion.)

Wait for January. Then, as it happens, the books are the only good thing :D .

Yes, for those without/unable to reach their families, Thanksgiving and Christmas are just… sad. I hope you fare well in your day-to-day life, Romeo.

Hey Romeo, long time no talk! =)
We’re working on stuff to send Jules home and all, perhaps you could help us. Do you have a Smartphone?

The time has come, my friend. I was hoping someone else would be delivering this news, as we have had our differences in the past. But we are now ready to begin the defictionalization process. We can send Juliet home. You as well if you wish. In fact, our employer has made it very clear that the process has a stronger chance of succeeding if we send you both back together. There’s a very high chance if we send Juliet back home by herself, that it may not work at all and she would be stuck here.

You know the risks. You know the options. You know that no matter what, we will not allow you and Juliet to die. We WILL give you both a happy ending. This new story will be canon and the old story will be nothing more than a bad dream.

So, where is your mind at? Are you ready to make the leap? Or do you wish to stay, and risk ruining Juliet’s one chance of making it home?
